Jasper Johns was the Honored Guest at the Second Slovene Graphic Biennial in Otocec, Slovenia. Upon invitation from its organizer, Mr. Branko Suhy, Kathleen Slavin curated the exhibition of Johns' prints, and wrote the catalogue essay, "Jasper Johns' Graphic Humanism" for inclusion alongside the 2nd Slovene Graphic Biennial exhibition. Served as invited member of international jury with museum and beaux-arts directors, attended press conference and televised gallery lecture. While in Slovenia, our very gracious host Mr. Suhy arranged for us to stay at the castle in Otočec, to visit the local town of Novo Mesto, and to drive to Croatia, where we visited Zagreb, which had recently sustained air strikes, and its museum collections were therefore in storage and the building windows blockaded. Our jury also conducted a press interview, and attended the televised opening reception of the biennial.
